Smalltown USA

Mr. Ruston started the summer session of Mother's Day Out last Tuesday.  Not sure what he's doing with his hands (haha!), but he was pretty excited to be starting a new class.  He's with the big kids now! :)

We made nachos for lunch on Wednesday and I had a little Bean Helper. He likes to help in the kitchen.

 He was in charge of spreading the beans on the chips.  But I'm pretty sure there were just as many beans on his legs!

 That night we went to the movies in Taylor for our weekly field trip.  It's such a cute, old timey theatre. They only play 2 movies... One upstairs and one down.  We went and saw Madagascar 3. "Polka dot, Polka dot, Polka dot! Afro circus!"  OMG, that song is so ridiculous, let catchy.  I swear I sang it the whole way home.

There are times when I really wish we lived closer to a big city. (Or in one!)  I miss the convenience of being able to get whatever I want, when I want it!  BUT, I do like Smalltown USA sometimes.... like when we have festivals.  It's crazy how the whole town comes out and participates.  Western Days was going down last week and we went to the parade Saturday morning.  We had a pretty good reason to go.... Danny's dad was the parade marshall and Ruston got to lead the parade with him! :)

 Scott, Bekah, and Blythe met us downtown for the parade.  We had to sit close to the end so we could grab Ruston from Pawpaw.

 Here they come!  When they came by us, Ruston was clinging to Pawpaw! haha. He did manage a little wave, though.

 Danny grabbed him when they got to the end and he came and watched the rest of the parade with us. He and Blythe liked the balloons they handed out, but they kept popping!

Monday we went over to Amy's to work on some shirts for our beach trip!  Amy had paints and markers for them to use.  They are all so excited about going!!

 We went over to Meemaw's to swim for a bit afterwards.  It sure is hard to get a group pic with kids, huh?

 Yesterday we worked on a little Pinterest project.  It turned out SO cute and Ruston is so proud of it.  It has a new home on our mantle!

We're headed to the beach today... can't wait!!
