Reasons to Celebrate

Life is full of blessings right now! I have so many friends and family getting married and welcoming new babies into their worlds.  I'm so thankful to be a part of all these wonderful happenings!

Last Friday, my good friend Bethany had her second baby boy.  Little Holland Paul will have lots of fun with big brother, Brock. :)

This Saturday, my cousin Clay got married.  It was pretty neat, they actually got married at the same place, exact same room, as his brother.  But it looked totally different! It's crazy how switching up the colors and layout can make a place look completely new.

My dad was there, so naturally, my son wanted nothing to do with me. :)

McKenzie was tearing up the dance floor! She was so cute.

Ruston joined her on the floor for a bit before the toasts....he ran in circles around her. ha! After the first dance, I went to grab him from my Dad so he could dance again. And this is what I found....

Poor guy was pooped! We headed home shortly after. Beautiful wedding, beautiful couple!

And today, Megan had little Braelynn Fay! I went by after school to meet the little gal. She's so small! I came straight from work and didn't want to give her my kids' germs, so I didn't hold her.  But I had to snap a pic of her sweet little face!

They're FINALLY gettin' hitched!!

Last Saturday I helped give a couples shower for my cousin and his fiance.  Justin and Kristen have been dating for something crazy, like 10 years. And now they are finally getting married! :)

It was a large shower, so we had to go simple on the food.  We did burgers and hotdogs.
We hung pictures of them together on twine for decorations and Amy made some cute mason jar/sunflower centerpieces and tissue paper balls to hang from the ceiling.
They got awesome gifts.... both useful and fun things!! :)

Me and my hubby. :)

All the guys...

and all the gals.

I had such a good time catching up with everyone and celebrating!  Love these girls.

Amy had the cutest idea for a shower "activity."  I spray painted some of my old wall frames with chalkboard paint.  We passed the chalkboards around and the guests wrote advice or just silly little notes to Justin & Kristen.  Then we took a picture of them holding the chalkboard up.  I uploaded them all to Shutterfly and they made the best little memory book. Can't wait to give it to them!

Next up, bachelorette Par-tay!!!

Wednesday Fun

{one} have you ever fainted?
nope.

{two} what is your favorite casino game?
I've never been to a casino! I'm not a gamblin' kinda gal.  I'd much rather use my money for something material. :)

{three} do you have a good sense of direction?
again...nope. :)

{four} laptop or desktop?
at home we have a laptop.  I love the ease of using it anywhere and everywhere, but I do miss using a mouse on a desktop.

{five} what is your go-to hair style when having a bad hair day?
messy ponytail or a hat!

{six} do you read the newspaper on a daily basis?
negative.

{seven} do you have a favorite celebrity chef?
hmmm...not really. I do like to make a lot of Rachel Ray's recipes though.

{eight} what tv show would you like to make a guest appearance on?
Cougar Town is freakin hilarious

{nine} do you have satellite radio in your car?
nope again.

{ten} what was the last movie that made you cry?
yikes...I don't remember. I'm going to guess The Blind Side, because I know I cried when we watched that...but I'm pretty sure there's probably been something else in there.

{surprise, surprise, they all have to do with the same little guy!}

**love that this little guy is growing up with some good friends**

**love seeing Danny play with and talk to Ruston**

**love summer shoes!!**

March Madness!

We have managed to keep ourselves ridiculously busy the past couple weeks!

We had dinner at our house a couple weeks ago to celebrate my dad and Grandpa's birthdays.

We made them Dad's favorite...yellow cake with chocolate icing.

Ruston spent a good amount of time moving the "Happy Birthday" toothpicks back and forth between the plate and the cake. :)

Last Saturday, Danny and I got to go see one of my favorite bands play... I LOVE Suede! I've talked about them before...they are still fabulous!

I only had my phone, so the pics are crappy. :(  JD and Melanie met us there!

My momma was there too :)

This Friday, we went to pick up Danny and got there pretty early.  We went to the park behind the DPS building and played for a while.  This boy loves being outside.  He chased every bird, squirrel, and leaf all the way across the playground! haha

Yesterday, Ruston and I loaded up with Lauri and Ainsley.  We headed to Houston for little Mason's first birthday party!

I haven't gotten the chance to see Natalie and Juaquin's house, so I was excited for the trip.

They had a little swimming pool outside filled with colored balls.  I think Ruston could have stayed in it all day long! Guess that's the next "toy" on my list. haha

Poor kids probably thought my child was crazy diving into the balls and swimming around :)

Miss Ainsley kept herself entertained with all the cool toys on the exersaucer.

Lunch with the birthday boy...

Natalie got out the Bumbo for one of the smaller kiddos to sit in, but Ruston just made himself at home and plopped right down!

He got to feed his addiction with beating things!! But this time it was acceptable. :)

Happy Birthday, Mason!!

He smashed that cake to pieces!

I love these pictures!
It's crazy how different these pictures look from the way they did back in high school.
So blessed to have such good friends that have been around for so long.

Today, Melanie and I threw Megan and Aaron a surprise diaper shower.  And what I really mean is, Melanie did! ha! Today was just a really rough day and I was pretty much no help at all.  Luckily, Melanie is a party host by nature, so it worked out OK.

I am so jealous of her cupcake stand! It was perfect for today and her cupcakes were DEEEElicious!

Cute little diaper cake. :)

I was in and out of the party, so this is the only picture I got of the guests' of honor! They were very surprised. :)

Lots more exciting events coming up this month! I can't believe it's already April!!!
