The Big 1-8!

Dallas turned 18 on January 27th! He was worried about staying in his weight class for powerlifting, so we didn't go out to eat until Saturday. We went to Nancy's Steakhouse in Bastrop. It was soooo cold outside!! Happy Birthday, Dallas!
Ruston wasn't a fan of the loud "Happy Birthday" song. :)

Late Nights / Early Mornings

When you go to bed late, you're supposed to sleep late......right?? Not according to Ruston! We went out to Buffalo Wild Wings last night for Adam's birthday. It was fun...hadn't hung out with everyone in a while.

We got to bed pretty late last night. Well, late for us at least. :) So I really expected to sleep a little later than he usually does. Nope! He was up at 7 o'clock....ready to watch Sesame Street and play with his animals!!

Big Boy is 4 months old!!

Can you believe this little pooper is already 4 months old?!? I can't get over how much he's grown in the last month. He has such a personality now. I read another blog, The Powell Family, and every month, her little man always had these cute little onesies on. She told me they were just stickers that you can get on Etsy! You stick them on to their onesies and they tell how old baby is. I really wish I would have asked sooner, because they are so cute and I hate that I couldn't start till 4 months. :( Here he is for his 4 month photo shoot!! :)
We took him to the doctor for his checkup on Monday. He gave the nurses lots of smiles and giggles. He's Mr. Flirtatious. :)
Stats: Weight 14 pounds, 7 ounces
Height: 26 inches
Head Circumference: 43.5 cm
He did really well with his shots. He just made a little face the first 2, but the screams came with the 3rd and 4th. Awful. He conked out afterwards. :)
This past month has been all about the hands and the mouth!! He is constantly staring at, sucking on and biting his hands. He swings his arms around more and has even started splashing in the bathtub. The newest thing is grabbing his feet. Super cute. His ahhs and oohs are turning more into goos and uh uh uhs. He's learned to flutter his lips too. I'm pretty sure he's still doing it on accident, but it's still funny. He's smiling almost all the time and the drool never stops. haha. He's also a lot more alert....he can follow you across the room and will turn towards your voice when he hears you. I just can not believe how big he is. I'll leave you with his 4 month pics by Ken!
Don't you just love him? :)

Disappointed...

Well, Buddy and I showed all the support we could. And we both did a lot of yelling at the TV. But the Cowboys weren't listening. :( Oh, well, maybe next year!!

Christmas.....Finally!!

Christmas was a whirlwind this year...we had so many places to be and we were spending a lot of time at the hospital. We really enjoyed getting to share our first Christmas with Ruston. Although he had no clue what was going on, he sure got a lot of love (and presents!).

It took us a while, but we did finally get the house decorated!

Our first gathering of the 2009 Christmas season was with the Voelker family on the 18th. We are so blessed to have such great friends. We talk every year about how uncommon and special our families' relationship is. We love you guys!

Next up was Christmas Eve, which we spent at my Aunt Debbie's house, and then at the hospital. We weren't at Debbie's for long, but Ruston really racked up on the hugs. It was his first time meeting this side of the family!

On Christmas morning, we usually spend the time running around from house to house, trying to get to everyone's house by 8. While it's easier than it sounds, since everyone lives so close together, it is quite the pain. I was looking forward to spending this Christmas morning at home, with our little family, and making some of our own traditions. I will admit though, I definitely missed being at our families' houses. Ruston was more interested in the tissue paper than any of his presents. He's pretty much in love with his piggy now, though. :) And of course, Diesel loved his honking chicken!!

We went over to Danny's parent's house for lunch. I think Ruston had about 83 presents to open up....I'm not kidding. haha.

Last stop of the day was at my dad's house. Things were different this year without my Grandma around. There was definitely something missing. I miss her everyday, but I know she's in a better place.

Things didn't end for us on Christmas day. We had Christmas with the Tumlinson's on the 26th at Grandma Charlotte's house. It was a great break from the normal Christmas dinner...we had mexican food! Can't ever get enough Mexican food. :)

Our last get together for this year was at our house! My mom and sister came over and we went to the grocery store and cooked manicotti. You know, we only had 7 people over, but it took all darn day to cook! I wouldn't have finished without them helping me!

And one final picture....do you think Ruston got spoiled this Christmas?!?!
