Thanksgiving 2010

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year!  In years past, we have struggled with trying to make sure we make it to everyone's house for all the holidays.  But what we were actually doing was spending the day in the car.  So we're trying to split things up a little more.  It was so nice to actually get to spend a good amount of time with our families.  We weren't rushed and trying to leave to make it to the next house.

We started out at my Aunt's house on my Mom's side.  My PawPaw is actually in the hospital right now with some health issues, so he wasn't able to be there...but the rest of the family was.

I thought it was funny that Adam and Audrey were wearing opposing team shirts.  The Aggies pulled off a win! Unfortunately, my Cowboys did not.  Boo.

I was impressed with how well Ruston ate the "Thanksgiving Food."  He scarfed it all up!

Adam looks so tall in this picture!!

All the boys hanging out.  We were standing out in the driveway when the cold front came through.  I've never been outside when one's come through before! It was crazy how we were sweating and then 2 seconds later I was looking for a jacket!

MawMaw and Tim fell asleep in the rocker.  They were stuffed from all that good food!  I got Debbie and Mom to sneak over for a picture. :)

This was the best pose we could get from this little stinker....he had exploring to do!

After lunch with my side, we headed over to Danny's parents for dinner.  Ruston was excited to see his Gigi and his Papaw.

Amanda and Danny were ready for the Aggie game!

Ruston just loves his Uncle Dallas.  He crawled all over him.

Then he convinced him to pull him around the house on his horsie!

Yeehaw, little buddy!

After a quick bath in the sink, Gigi and Amanda helped Ruston get ready for bed.  Although, he wasn't near ready to go to sleep!

Dillon and Danny waiting for the game to start.

We have so much to be thankful for in our lives!  I'm so glad we got to spend this special day with so many of our family members.

Flashback Friday! (a day late :) )

On Wednesday, Ruston and I made a visit to Aunt Brenda's house.  Amanda and Noah came in for Thanksgiving.  Since we weren't going to get to see them on the actual holiday, we had a play date the day before.

They played pretty well together.  Only played tug-o-war with toys a couple times. ;)

And now for the flashback part....this is Ruston and Noah in November of last year!

Lots O' Fun!

We had a great, eventful, fun filled weekend!

Friday night, Ruston and I went over to Melanie and Joe David's.  They had dinner made and our Scentsy order came in.  Melanie opened one of her Do-it-Yourself Scentsy's and pulled out the styrofoam.  Miss Kenzie took it upon herself to make the pieces a little smaller.
Once he saw how much fun Kenzie was having, Ruston decided to join in himself.
Apparently, it seemed more fun to roll in the pieces.
And back up to rip them up some more!
JD and Melanie - thank you for putting up with our crazy kids!

Saturday we got decked out in our A&M gear to head to College Station.  Unfortunately, it was the only tailgate we made it to this year! Weekends have just been hectic and packed this fall, so we haven't been able to make it.
Me and the Hubby!
Beaver dunked his ring this weekend.  I'm so glad we were able to make it.

You can see his ring at the bottom of the pitcher!
Don't swallow it! :)
We had a great time hanging out with friends and family.  It was a great break for us.

Ruston enjoyed hanging out in the back of Beaver's truck, playing with keys and throwing the hay.

Danny got to go to the game with Travis. He had a great time and it was probably the best game to go to. Ruston and I went back to Dallas' place.  We stayed the night at the condo in CS Saturday night and headed home Sunday morning.  It was nice knowing that I didn't have to worry about rushing home to get ready for the week ahead.  I'm going to enjoy having this whole week off!

Last week I wrote about Amanda getting her Aggie ring.  We didn't get to see her dunk her ring, but I stole some pics off of Facebook.  The pictures look like they had a great time, and we're sad we missed out on it!!

Fourteen

Ruston turned 14 months old this past Wednesday.  I say it every month, but I can't believe he's getting so big! This is such a fun age and I enjoy every minute I get to spend with him. (Yes, even the moments when he throws his head backwards, arches his back, kicks and screams. :) )

Eating:  You eat EVERYTHING!  You are not a picky eater at all, but you are a very impatient eater!  When it's time for food, it better be ready and waiting. :)  You are eating 3 big meals a day and 3 snacks. Most mornings you have oatmeal with some kind of fruit mixed in.  For lunch you eat a lot of sandwiches or left overs from the night before.  At dinner, you normally eat whatever Danny and I are having.

Talking:  Not yet! You still speak in your own language and we can normally figure out what you want. But no real words.  You do a lot of pointing and babbling still.  You love to point at our eyes, nose, mouth and we tell you the word over and over.  We keep hoping you'll copy us, but you haven't yet. But I'm sure you will in your own time. :)

Sleeping:  It's going OK.  You still do not sleep all the way through the night.  Danny and I take turns going in at night and patting you back to sleep. And yes, we're still being bad....  If it's close to morning wake up time, we normally just bring you to our bed. I don't sleep as well, but I love those cuddles!

Playing:  You are constantly playing! You've gotten to where you like to play by yourself too.  You'll walk around the house and play with random toys for short increments.  You absolutely love your trucks and tractors.  You are pretty much always either pushing, rolling, carrying, or throwing your tractors around.  Diesel is also still a favorite toy.  You crawl all over him and bend down to scream in his face.  He gets a little annoyed, but just lets you do what you want. :)

Moving:  You can get anywhere you want, whenever you want! You walk like such a big boy now.  You keep your hands to your sides and don't really need them to balance anymore.  You are getting faster and faster and you almost run! The only time you really crawl now is when you are pushing your cars or you fall and just stay down.

Happy 14 months, little boy! Love you lots!

Bathrooms

This week's topic: Extra rooms (Laundy rooms, play rooms, etc.)

Last week's topic: Bathrooms

We don't have any bonus rooms, but we do have a laundry room.  And guess what? It's not that exciting. haha.  So I'm going to back up and share our bathrooms.

This is our guest bathroom. It's rather small, but it has all the key items.
I've considered changing the decor to be more kid friendly, but I love the way the bathroom looks now.  Ruston doesn't seem to mind right now, so I'll just wait until he requests something different. :)
I love all the neutral colors.  Very simple. :)

I LOVE our master bath.  It's super big and has a fabulous bathtub.  The window above the tub is made out of the thick, glass blocks. We ended up having to cover it though, because the sun in the morning was blinding!  The door to the left goes into our closet.  Yeah, no way you're seeing inside there! haha

The opposite side of the tub, with the shower and the "toilet room" through the door on the right.

Close up of the tub. The jets are fabulous!

Our shower is big enough for a party! :)

The double sinks are really convenient when Danny and I need to get dressed at the same time.  Our bathrooms have the same granite counter tops and knotty alder cabinets that we have in the kitchen.

"Toilet room" on the left and the door into the bedroom on the right.

Go check out some homes around the country!
