Grandpoo's Birthday!

September 29th is "Grandpoo's" Birthday. The name Grandpoo is still not official, but Kathie and I think it is a very appropriate name for Bubba. :) He actually gave it to himself on accident! A while back when everyone was discussing what they wanted Ruston to call them, he rambled it off when he was throwing out names. He claims he doesn't remember that, but that's a hard name for me to forget. :) We went over to Grandpoo and Gigi's house to have dinner for his birthday. Of course, it turned into a photo shoot. :)

Ruston's 2 week appointment

Everything was great at Ruston's two week appointment. He's back to birth weight (7lb14oz) and he's grown 1/2 an inch (21inches)!

Bath Time!

Mr. Ruston is NOT a fan of bath time! He screamed the whole time!!

Hopefully he'll get better at bath time, because he smelled oooooohhhhh so good afterwards! :)

Ruston hung out with his "fur brother"....
They like to have "stare off" competitions. :)

Going Home

Ruston got to come see his new home on the 19th! Before we left, we got some pictures taken. I always thought of baby hospital pictures as just the 1 close up of the baby's face in the pink and blue hat. But our hospital pictures are great! The photographer took about 50 pictures, then we got to choose our top 8 to be put on a CD. The pictures turned out really well!
We loaded him up in his carseat and got ready to go! The carseat was still a little big for him! :)

All Ruston's family and friends!

We had a busy few days in the hospital! Ruston had all kinds of "procedures" to be done and many visitors to entertain. :) He's a very lucky little boy to have so many people that love him!

Ruston Daniel Glass

Our little man arrived on September 17th, 2009 at 12:02p.m.! He was 7 pounds, 14 ounces and 20.5 inches long!
On Wednesday evening, the 16th, I let Danny convince me to go walk around the neighborhood a bit. We'd been walking for about a minute when he mentioned how "bad" it would be if I went into labor that night. (We were definitely not prepared! Bag hadn't been packed, Pediatrician hadn't been chosen, nursery wasn't ready, my school stuff wasn't prepared, etc.) I agreed and we walked a minute longer and......my water broke! Danny helped me hobble back to the house and ran around grabbing things and calling people as I directed him from the shower...haha. My water broke at 8:30 and we got to the hospital right at 10. We got all checked in and settled into our room. The doctors informed us that nothing would probably happen until the next afternoon. A few of the MANY folks in the waiting room headed back home, but we had a good amount of troopers that spent the night on those "comfy" chairs!! It was a veeeerrrrrryyyyy long night. I didn't start hurting until about midnight. The doctor came in and started Pitocin at 3a.m. and I finally requested the epidural at 4. I'd had enough!! :)
Things moved quickly from there. At about 11:30 the next morning, it was time to get to work! Hearing the little guy cry for the first time was an amazing sound. Surreal. It was so great to finally meet the person that had made me so sick for so long! haha

Not so good at this so far!!

Well, as you can see, I haven't done a very good job of updating!! I promise, I'll try to do better! Let's play a little catch up.... I had 2 more wonderful showers to get us all ready for little Ruston! The first was on August 15th at the 1st Baptist Church. We got lots of goodies and Ruston's Pack and Play!

Our last shower was with Danny's family on September 13th. We were so lucky...we ended up getting pretty much everything else on our registry. We are very grateful for all our friends and family that helped us to prepare for our little guy!
