Stacey got hitched!!

I was trying to wait until I got some more pictures from her big day, but I'll just add more later. :) Stacey and Brandon got married on November 14th. It was beautiful!! Little Stacey Pacey is
no longer a Voelker....

We got up super early Saturday morning and headed to the salon. Ruston got to hang out with the girls all day...he did really well....until that night at the reception. He was so tired! He was pretty fussy, so a lot of time was spent in the hallway bouncing him around. :) Stacey looked absolutely beautiful and I'm so happy for her and Brandon. We had a great time seeing all our friends and celebrating with them.
Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Tompkins!!! :)

Be looking for lots of videos this month! They have soo many cute Christmas ones. And you family members, be prepared to make some appearances...haha!

What a Tough little boy!

Last Tuesday, Ruston had his 2 month appointment. He did really well! He weighed in at 11 pounds, 10 ounces and was 33 2/4 inches long. He had to lay on his tummy and lift his head up...the doctor said he was holding it up like a 4 month old. He's a strong little boy! He needed to be strong....he had to get 5 shots!! One he took by mouth, but the other 4 were in his legs. I felt so bad for him! He just screamed and screamed. He calmed down though, and let us take his picture. Poor baby. He took a nice long nap when he got home!

Thoughts for Thursday

Today was exhausting....mentally and physically! It was my first day back at work and it felt like the longest day ever. I was totally lost the whole day. Luckily, I have a few good students that helped me out. :) Gosh, it was like the first day of school all over again. They talked nonstop and acted like they had no idea how to act in school. I'm breaking myself in slowly, though...I work 3 days this week and then I have all of next week off. You know, I never thought I'd say it, but I wish I didn't have to work. I would love to be able to stay home with Ruston. I really am so lucky that I don't have to send him to daycare. I would have worried myself sick today if that were the case! Well, here are this weeks words of wisdom....

GOD SAID NO...

I asked God to take away my habit.

God said, No. It is not for me to take away, But for you to give it up.

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.
God said, No.. His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary.

I asked God to grant me patience.
God said, No. Patience is a byproduct of tribulations;
It isn't granted, it is learned.

I asked God to give me happiness.
God said, No. I give you blessings; Happiness is up to you.

I asked God to spare me pain.
God said, No. Suffering draws you apart from
Worldly cares And brings you closer to me.

I asked God to make my spirit grow.
God said, No. You must grow on your own,
But I will prune you to make you fruitful.

I asked God for all things That I might enjoy life.
God said, No. I will give you life, So that you may enjoy all things.

I asked God to help me LOVE others, as much as He loves me.
God said... Ahhhh, Finally you have the idea.

Lately....

We've been so busy! I'm so glad we were able to spend a weekend at the beach...it was a great break! Ruston enjoyed his first trip! It was too windy to take him down to the sand, but he loved the balcony. He also got all dressed in his pearl snaps for a wedding at the pool. :) I enjoyed my time, too. It was nice to sleep in a little! I'd feed Ruston early in the morning and then Gigi was waiting to entertain him...so I got to go back to sleep! Fabulous. :) I got to spend some time out at the beach too. It was chilly, but bearable. I didn't want to leave! I swear, I could live down there. I can't wait for our next trip...hopefully Danny will be able to go with us next time! And once it gets warmer, I am so excited about letting Ruston play in the sand.

This past weekend Miss Stacey got married. We had a great time celebrating with her and all our friends. Pictures coming soon!! This is going to be quite a week. Tomorrow is Ruston's 2 month appointment. He's got a good number of shots headed his way. :( And then there's Wednesday....my first day back to work. I'm so sad that I have to leave this little guy. I know he's in good hands, I'm not worried about that at all...I'm just going to miss him! I'll let you know how I do!

Flashback Friday! Part 2

Last summer, I spent a lot of time at the beach! I swear, it is the best place to go to relax and unwind. I love the sound of the waves, digging my toes in the sand and feeling the cool breeze. I'm lucky that I have a place to stay and go whenever I want! Kathie, Dillon, Ruston and I are headed down to Port Aransas tonight. It'll be a good break for me before going back to work in a week and a half!!

Happy Halloween!

Our first Halloween in the new house was pretty darn hectic! We had some errands to run that morning, so we got buddy all dressed and ready to go!
That outfit didn't last long between eating and diaper issues. :) We put him in outfit #2, his "I love my mummy" onesie and waited for the Trick or Treaters. Let me tell you, they come to our neighborhood in packs! There were so many kids...we ran out of candy!!
Our first Trick or Treater was Miss Kenzie! She and her "brudder" had a mini photo shoot on the couch before she got on her way.
The kids weren't the only ones having fun on Halloween night. The grown ups walk from house to house enjoying their own "treats!" We had many visitors to keep the night moving along. Kelsie - I will be sending you a bill for the shaker of salt that Scott swallowed. :)

And you know Mr. Diesel wanted to dress up too!

I also wanted to share this music video my family and I made just for you guys!

Flashback Friday!

I got this idea from my friend, Christen's blog! Here's the flashback photo for the week...
Halloween 2006!!
My first year up in Mesquite - all my buddies came to visit and go to a Halloween party that my roommate, Lisa, was having! So fun! Danny and I had only been dating for about 3 months!

Busy busy weekend!

We had our first out of town trip this past weekend! It went well! We got to see so many friends! The only thing I can really complain about is that I did a HORRIBLE job of taking pictures! I didn't even get one of the 3 of us at the wedding we went to! Ruston slept pretty much the whole way in the car. We had to pull over every once in a while to eat though.

On Friday we drove into Mesquite and visited my old school. It was so great to see everyone I used to work with and for them to meet Ruston. I miss you guys sooo much! Next time I'll make sure I have more time to actually talk to you guys! :)

Friday night Danny had rehearsal and we went to rehearsal dinner. It was sooo cold outside! I kept Ruston wrapped tight in a blanket and he slept the whole time.

Saturday morning I headed to Lewisville to meet my bestie, Leslie and her little girl Addy. Addy is getting soooo big! I'm so mad we didn't get a picture of them together. We had a good time catching up and having yummy lunch at Chili's. Leslie, give Addy a kiss from me!! :)

We got back to the hotel in Decatur just in time to get ourselves dressed and headed to the church. The wedding was really fun! Did you guys see the YouTube video this summer of the wedding where the bridesmaids and groomsmen danced down the aisle to the Chris Brown song?? Well, they did that for James and Heather's wedding! Danny was so nervous, but he did good! I video'ed it.....Danny wouldn't let me post it on here, but if you email me, I might be able to slip it to you. haha

On our way home Sunday, we stopped in Hurst to visit more of Ruston's family. His aunt Julie and cousin Ryanne kept fighting over who's turn it was to hold him! :)

What a looooooong day!

We had quite a long day this past Tuesday! It started out that morning with Ruston's one month appointment. Everything looked good....he is at an even 10 pounds, and 21 3/4 inches long. It was a pretty messy visit....I've been using both newborn and size 1 diapers on him the past couple days....newborn are really too small and size 1 are just a little too big. Well, I've decided after this appointment that it's time for size 1!! After the doctor weighed Ruston, I picked him up and held him. He decided that it was time to fill his diaper...it filled all the way to the top, out the back and all over my shirt and jeans. Let me tell you, I smelled lovely! I cleaned it up the best I could with his wipes and waited for the nurse to come in for his shot. :( He started crying when she put the cold wipe on him! haha What an awful cry after the shot....I am NOT looking forward to next month when he gets 4! He was kicking and squirming after she gave it to him, so she couldn't get the bandaid on well. He ended up getting blood all down the other side of my clothes. I'm going to have to remember to pack myself a change of clothes in the diaper bag too!!

Later that day we went down to visit Mimi at the airport. One of my former students in Mesquite sent me his "Flat Stanley" for vacation. We thought Stanley would enjoy being in an airplane. :)

After we left the airport, we went out to the hay field. Ruston got to ride the tractor with his Daddy for the first time. He slept the whole time, but I'm sure he loved it! Have you heard the song, "Big Green Tractor" by Jason Aldean? That song reminds me of Danny, so it's been my ringtone for him on my phone for quite a while. Now we've realized that when he's crying and really upset, we can play that song and he stops!! It's the weirdest thing! I think he's destined to love big, green tractors. :)

Ruston's day wasn't over yet...as if it hadn't been long enough! We went to visit Auntie Megan and Kenzie that night. Kenzie kept giving him kisses and calling him her "brudder." :) I think that's a hint for you Auntie Megan!!

Going private....

I've decided that I'm going to make this blog private. It's scary to think that anyone can just be looking at our pictures and what we're writing. Soooo...I know it will be more difficult for all of you...you'll have to create a username and password in order to read the blog....but I think it's best. You'll get an email invitation soon! :)

Ruston is 4 weeks old!

Ruston is 4 weeks old! I can not believe how quickly the time goes by! Here is he taking a nap with his fur brother. Diesel has to know what's going on with him at all times. He loves to lay by him.

Grandpoo's Birthday!

September 29th is "Grandpoo's" Birthday. The name Grandpoo is still not official, but Kathie and I think it is a very appropriate name for Bubba. :) He actually gave it to himself on accident! A while back when everyone was discussing what they wanted Ruston to call them, he rambled it off when he was throwing out names. He claims he doesn't remember that, but that's a hard name for me to forget. :) We went over to Grandpoo and Gigi's house to have dinner for his birthday. Of course, it turned into a photo shoot. :)

Everything was great at Ruston's two week appointment. He's back to birth weight (7lb14oz) and he's grown 1/2 an inch (21inches)!

Bath Time!

Mr. Ruston is NOT a fan of bath time! He screamed the whole time!!

Hopefully he'll get better at bath time, because he smelled oooooohhhhh so good afterwards! :)
