Out on the Tracks

Thomas the Train came to Burnet yesterday!  Mom and Audrey came over bright and early and we loaded up in the car.
They had all sorts of activities to do, including tattoos, coloring, a bouncy obstacle course, and lots of little toy train tracks.
The actual train ride was pretty short and uneventful.  We just drove down the track a bit, stopped, then came right back the opposite direction.  It was a nice experience though.

The weather was pretty gross all day, so I'm glad most of the activities were covered.  Ruston had a blast playing with the toy trains, but he didn't really understand that he had to share the track.  He didn't like when another kiddo would come grab a train or block him from continuing on "his" track.
We had to bribe him to take this pic....  I can't remember what he was mad at, but it was definitely not an easy deal. :)
Audrey colored and Ruston drove his new Thomas boat around.
We planned on ending the day with a Thomas story time, but there was a "comedian" in the room that went over his allotted time.  So no story.  But it was still a really fun day!  Now we need to look in to taking a ride on the North Pole Express!!

Party Time!

Saturday was the BIG day! Ruston's 3rd birthday parties!
All of the projects and to-do lists were finished and everything turned out amazing!  The kids LOVED dad's monster truck track.  They all just kept running back and forth between the bounce house, the playscape, and the track.  They all played so well together and it was a blast to see them all together.

The yard looked awesome.  We borrowed tables and chairs and decorated with monster trucks. (of course!)

I love my new cake stand! The cake and cupcakes fit perfectly and Ruston loved all the colors.
Look how sweaty they all are!! They ran and played non-stop.

Ruston used to hate when people sang Happy Birthday.  There were no problems at all this year! He smiled the whole time and was ready to blow that candle out!!

Ruston got so many great gifts.  Toys, "pow-pows", clothes, and books.  Everything he could possibly want or need!

The pinata was so much fun.  It was hilarious to see all the different kids going at it.  Some of them had no idea what to do, some lightly tapped it, and others went at it!

They all ran in for the goodies after Tyler demolished it. :)

After a couple hours and a good nap, party number 2 started!  Ruston had tons of fun again showing all the grown-ups around his party.

Everybody brought different items and we had a yummy "burger bar" for dinner.  Ruston just ate up all the attention he was getting. :)

Once it got dark, we headed inside for Happy Birthday, cake, and more gifts.

We had loads of fun, but boy were we tired that night!  Thank you so much to all of our family and friends that came out to celebrate our big boy.  It always amazes me at how loved and blessed he is.  He's one special guy!  And a million thanks to our parents - you helped us give him such a fantastic day!!
