Summer Beach Trip 2011

Now that Danny is home, we were able to take off to the beach for a bit.  We love the beach and always have.  This trip was a little different, though.... I'm still not able to get in the water (stinkin' spider!) and Ruston just isn't able to be in the sun all day, like Danny and I normally are.

We got into Port Aransas on Friday evening.  We walked Ruston down to the beach and were pleased that he didn't immediately start screaming! haha.  I finally convinced him to walk out in the water by showing him how much fun it was to "step" on the waves. :)

Satruday we went into Corpus and visited the USS Lexington.  We knew Ruston would be interested... I mean, it's a huge boat with planes all over it... But I was blown away by how much he loved it! There was a constant smile and lots of excited squeals.

He enjoyed being the "man in charge" at the dinner table.
The lockers were perfect hide and seek size.
Can't quite reach the pedals, but he knows how to shift the gears!
Dad and Ruston...off to save the world :)

He was so funny on this huge anchor.  We set him up there and got ready to take the picture. And he slid down! He thought it was a slide.  This was actually take 2. :)

Sunday we just stayed at the condo all day.  We took some naps and took turns going out for some sun.  Once there was some shade on the beach, we took Ruston down.

He was so funny.  He'd be having a good time, then seconds later start crying.  Then he'd get distracted and have fun again. As long as he didn't realize where he was and what he was doing, he was fine. lol
I look a little rough, but can't leave the family picture out. :)
It was Ruston's 22 month birthday, so of course, we had cupcakes.

Monday we headed back to Corpus for the Aquarium.  Ruston loved it just as much as last time!
He didn't want to touch the alligator!!
He likes watching the sharks from afar, but when they start getting close, he gets nervous!
No time for camera lookin.
He had a mini meltdown when we tried to make him leave the big fish tank, so we've got a few tears in the eyes. :)
The Aquarium opened a little splash pad! You can definitely tell he's not used to these types of things because he really just stuck to a couple little "play things." He liked the turtle.
And he loved the Dippin' Dots!

Back at the condo, he did a little bird feedin'.

Tuesday, we went down to the beach one more time.  He wasn't really into it at all this time.  He just sat in the chair next to me most of the time.

Can't wait for the next trip!
