We had a fantastic time celebrating Ruston's 1st birthday as a little family. Thursday night, the 16th, we drove to San Antonio and spent the night in a hotel.
We got up early and ate breakfast in the lobby. Ruston refused to let go of his bagel. :)
We went back to the room and opened presents. Ruston got some new books and a bag full of foam blocks. They were a big hit!
We got dressed and headed to the San Antonio Zoo. Ruston had so much fun looking at all the animals. He stayed in his stroller most of the time, but we carried him a little too.
He wasn't too into petting the animals. But he thought it was funny when I did!
Ruston LOVES snowcones. It was a really hot day, so a Polar Bear Punch was in order.

Ruston absolutely loves birds. They had a little screened-in area where they were just flying around.
He really enjoyed seeing the birds up close and talking to them.

The day was fantastic and I'm so glad we were able to take off work and spend the day together. This trip is definitely something I'd love to do every year. We'll just have to get used to the heat! :)
