Goin to the Chapel...

In just 10 minutes, I will be exactly 1 month late on this post. :) haha.  Better late than never!  Justin and Kristen tied the knot on May 21st.  The ceremony and reception was so pretty!

Friday night was the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.  They had the dinner at Kenneth and Suanna's house.  It was delicious!

It ended up storming really bad that night while we were there.  We were a little worried about it, because it knocked part of the reception tent down.  But no worries, it was all taken care of!

Justin and Kristen got married at New Sweden Baptist Church.  The stained glass was beautiful!
Once we got to the reception, all the ladies changed into our boots!
 First dance!
 Fun with the girls!
 Me and my Hubby
 Love these chicas!

Congrats Jus and Kris! It was a fabulous time!!

Happy Daddy's Day!

Hope everyone had a great day celebrating their daddies!!
I've been blessed with one of the greatest daddies around.  And now he's one of the greatest granddaddies! :)

Ruston got to spend lots of time with his Daddy today too.  Look how much fun they have on the weekends. :)

We met Danny's parents at Nancy's Steakhouse for a little Father's Day Dinner.

Happy Father's Day!

Kristen's Bachelorette Par-tay!

I spent a fabulous weekend on Lake Conroe with the girls at the beginning of May.  We spent the few days celebrating Kristen's then upcoming wedding.  Suanna's lakehouse is gorgeous and was the perfect place for the party.

Saoirse, Kristen Reid, Amy and I rode down together.  We were ridiculously excited when we found a room with 2 sets of bunk beds!!
We were not as excited a few hours later, when we realized it was a closet that had no vents or plugs for a fan.  We were quick thinkers though, and decided to just pull 2 of the mattresses off and drag them into another room. Problem solved. :)

Friday night we went to Sam's Boat for dinner, drinks, and some dancing.

Saturday morning we headed into town and visited a small winery.  We got to sample 6 different wines and had a great time with the wine maker, Billy.  He was quite the comedian!

We had lunch at the Tea Room and then headed back for some sun! We laid out for a few hours, then went on a boat ride to look at some of the houses.  They are amazing!   After a delicious dinner, we had a scavenger hunt....but we had to wear the items we found!  Here's my team

Bachelorette Kristen and Saoirse were the team leaders, so they ended up wearing a few more accessories.

We had a great girls weekend! Lots of fun memories. :)

Fill in the Blank Friday

1.   The last movie I saw was       Gnomeo and Juliet! Adam and Saoirse brought it over for Ruston to watch last night.  It was pretty cute!

2.  I want to    go on a date with my hubby.

3.  Surprises are     fantastic.  But hard to pull off.  I was trying to plan a surprise party for Danny's DPS graduation, but he was making it ridiculously difficult.  So I told him.  Non-surprise graduation party soon! :)

4.  The best accessory is   a smile!

5.  My favorite warm drink is     McDonald's Vanilla Latte.  No Starbucks around here, so if I want something better than my coffee pot, Micky D's it is.

6.  My favorite cold drink is       cherry coke. And I've been on an orange juice kick lately.

7.  Currently loving       summertime!  No schedule, no uncomfortable shoes, just swimming pools, naps, flip flops, and relaxing days.

I'm Still Here!

Well, hello, Blog World!  Did you miss me?  What a crazy, hectic life we've been living.  The end of the school year is always a busy time, but this year seems to have snuck up and flown by.  The past month and a half have been FULL of happy occasions and a few sad ones, as well.

BUT.... I am now on SUMMER BREAK! Wooohooo! I tell ya, this could not have come at a better time.  I have to brag on myself a bit....I haven't just been sleeping super late and laying around all day.  I joined a boot camp! I've been getting up at 4:30 (4 days this week!) and heading out.  It's so much cooler doing it first thing in the morning and I don't have to worry about finding a babysitter.  My mom(s) have been spending the night here and then I get back in time for them to get off to work.  Proud of me?? I bet you are. :)

Here's what else I've been up to for the last week and a half....

hanging out with my boy and his friends (and my friends!)
swimmin!
playin in the sand
playin in the sand some more
 cuddlin with my boy
watchin some stellar movies
shootin water guns
grubbin on some Mickey D's breakfast
and hangin out at Nutty Brown!

Summer's off to a great start!!

Easter 2011

It's been forever since I've had the time to blog.  It is such a bummer because I feel like this is an awesome memory keeper... and by the time I get things posted, I forget the special little details.  I've got to get better...

We had a fun Easter this year.  Ruston was old enough to participate in some of the fun activities that go along with the holiday.  I'm disappointed to report that we didn't even make it to church on Easter Sunday.  I say disappointed, because I've always wanted to make sure that my kids understand the true meaning behind these special days.  I feel like this year I got so wrapped up in the fun I wanted Ruston to have, that I forgot all about the most important parts.  Note to self, got to do better!

Our first Easter celebration was the night before.  We went to Danny's parents house and had an Easter egg hunt.
Ruston picked up a few eggs and put them in his basket, but he was definitely more interested in throwing them on the concrete and laughing when they would bust open.
Here he is about to let one fly. :)
 Hanging out with Dad.
We celebrated Amanda's birthday that night too.  It was my first time making a homemade chocolate cake...it turned out pretty good!

Easter morning, we got up and went to see what the Easter Bunny left.  Ruston got a Cars basket with some Elmo Easter books, some Cars tub toys, his own set of noisy keys, and a few snacks.
Next was his indoor egg hunt.  We set them up all over the living room and then in a trail into our bedroom.
The trail ended at his swimming pool which is now filled with balls! He had a great time playing in them at Mason's birthday party, so I've really been wanting to get him some.  We grabbed a little plastic slide that he goes down into the balls.
I love watching these two. :)  Oatmeal for breakfast in the recliner!

That afternoon, we headed out to Danny's Nana's house.  Ruston still has a great love for tractors, so we took a little ride.
He had a blast on the porch.  He would run from end to end trying to swat catch butterflies.
He spent a little time swinging with Nana.
 Kathie and the kids...
As we were leaving, poor Danny got ambushed.  And being the great wife that I am, rather than warn him about what was headed his way, I got my camera ready. :)
Amanda got him with the confetti eggs and Dallas was all over him with the water gun.
Of course, he had to get a little revenge. :)

Overall, it was a fast, but fun-filled weekend.  And just for grins, check out my terrified child with the Easter Bunny!
