This weekend we went out to the pumpkin patch at Evergreen Farms! I'd been talking it up to Ruston for a good week, so he was really excited about the "puckin pach." We went for the train ride first.... Ruston took a ride on the Christmas tractor while we waited. :)
The "train" was actually just a small tractor pulling some quite bumpy carts. The driver had a little wooden "choo choo" whistle that he would blow every now and then. haha.
Next up was some good ole fashioned boy fun. Kicking dirt. We did this for a good 3 minutes.
Danny helped Ruston launch some pumpkins. He wasn't too sure about it at first, but once he saw the first one fly, he was sold.
He actually launched a pumpkin right into a box, so he got a prize. Check out this awesome football!
Then it was fishing time. We were fishing for little duckies floating around with some pumpkins.
Ruston thought these stepping stones with numbers on them were just great. He ran from number to number saying "9, 3, 6, 8, 2." We'll work on saying the correct numbers later....hey, at least he was naming actual numbers. :)
We did a little balance beam walking...
...and play some tetherball.
Then it was finally time for our pumpkin hunt! We loaded up on the tractor and headed out to the Christmas trees.
They hide the little pumpkins all through the Christmas tree rows.
Ruston found a good stash! But he only got to keep 2.
And of course, we had to attempt the cute pumpkin pictures. Ruston was so funny, he watched the little girl in front of us take her pictures, and he copied everything she did!
Our last stop for the day was underneath the pavilion. Ruston painted his 2 little pumpkins and we shared a snow cone.
On our way out, we had to stop and pose on old John Deere.
It's crazy how different our trip was this year from last year! Check out how different he looks. :)
