At the "Puckin Pach"

This weekend we went out to the pumpkin patch at Evergreen Farms!  I'd been talking it up to Ruston for a good week, so he was really excited about the "puckin pach."  We went for the train ride first.... Ruston took a ride on the Christmas tractor while we waited. :)
The "train" was actually just a small tractor pulling some quite bumpy carts.  The driver had a little wooden "choo choo" whistle that he would blow every now and then. haha.
Next up was some good ole fashioned boy fun.  Kicking dirt.  We did this for a good 3 minutes.
Danny helped Ruston launch some pumpkins.  He wasn't too sure about it at first, but once he saw the first one fly, he was sold.
He actually launched a pumpkin right into a box, so he got a prize.  Check out this awesome football!
Then it was fishing time.  We were fishing for little duckies floating around with some pumpkins.
Ruston thought these stepping stones with numbers on them were just great.  He ran from number to number saying "9, 3, 6, 8, 2."  We'll work on saying the correct numbers later....hey, at least he was naming actual numbers. :)
We did a little balance beam walking...
 ...and play some tetherball.
Then it was finally time for our pumpkin hunt! We loaded up on the tractor and headed out to the Christmas trees.
They hide the little pumpkins all through the Christmas tree rows.
Ruston found a good stash! But he only got to keep 2.
And of course, we had to attempt the cute pumpkin pictures.  Ruston was so funny, he watched the little girl in front of us take her pictures, and he copied everything she did!
Our last stop for the day was underneath the pavilion.  Ruston painted his 2 little pumpkins and we shared a snow cone.
On our way out, we had to stop and pose on old John Deere.

It's crazy how different our trip was this year from last year!  Check out how different he looks. :)

Birthday, Part 2!

After Ruston's birthday party at the bounce house place, we came back home for a good nap.  Ruston woke back up about 10 minutes before his 2nd party guests arrived. Perfect timing. :)

Ruston invited all his family over for a party at the house Saturday afternoon.  We had pizza and then he was ready for presents again.  Some of the bags were so big he could fit inside!
He was so funny...after he opened each gift, he would run over to Pawpaw and ask him to open it.
My dad and Melinda got him a big McQueen car that he can ride around in.  He loves it!

Next up was the pinata! Yes, he's using a Swiffer stick to hit it.  Hey, I wasn't going to pay for a piece of wood when this would work just as well. :)

Last up was the cake.  I got him this little cake at HEB and the guests snacked on the cake from the morning party.
I tried to explain to everyone that he didn't like the Happy Birthday song, but they insisted we sing it.  When we started, he got mad and hit the cake! Everyone threw their hands out to block the candle flame. :)  We tried singing Big Green Tractor next, and he didn't like that either. So we just gave up and let him blow out the candle and eat the cake. :)
Ruston had a fabulous birthday and is so lucky to have so many wonderful people that love him.  Thank you to everyone that came out to celebrate his special day. :)

Birthday Boy!

Ruston turned 2 on September 15!!
Danny and I had the gifts from us set out on the fireplace for when he woke up.  He got a couple movies, some cars, a "phone", and a couch.  We were so excited about his reaction this year.  He actually got it! He was smiling and happy and actually opened the presents. :)

Ruston invited all his little friends to come jump with him at Giggle-n-Jump!  He had so much fun.  They bounced, played in the ball pit, slid, drove the cars, and played with the trains.
It was such an easy party.  We just showed up with our food and cake.  They already had the tables decorated, his name on the board, and did all the clean up.
I was surprised we were able to coax all the kids out of the bouncers and into the party area.  Ruston had a grand ole time opening his gifts.  He sat on top of the ice chest and got SO excited with each new present.  Made me smile, but at the same time, he seemed so big and old.
His cake was so cute! It came from HEB and I was quite impressed.
He was really pumped about the cake until we started singing Happy Birthday...he hates that song! Actually, I think he just hates everyone singing together really loud and looking at him. (??)  He cried so hard while we were singing! He wouldn't even blow out the candle.
Once he calmed down, he enjoyed his cake. :)
These pictures crack me up!! Logan had to leave a little early, but here are the rest of Ruston's birthday guests.  One more disappears with each picture! :)
